My Woodworking Journey

The craft of woodworking is a never-ending road, one which continually inspires me to keep evolving to create beautiful custom wood designs.

My passion for working with natural materials started while I was studying Fine Art at Falmouth College of Art.

It was through experimenting in the workshop, exploring the different textures and materials, that I discovered the playful and creative side of working with wood, one which I carry into my work today.

Before I set up my workshop, I was involved in the building trade for twenty years, working on the construction of roof structures and the restoration of historical buildings. It was at this time that I began to fall in love with the process and craft of working with wood.

It was like I had finally found something I was in tune with.

"Exceptional quality craftsmanship and a genuinely nice guy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Brett to anyone.”

- David and Sarah, Fulbourn, Cambridge

“When renovating our house, Brett made some bespoke furniture for us. Brett's work is excellent, he has an eye for detail and listens to your requirements. Not only this but Brett takes real pride and care in his work and is exceptionally thorough. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Brett to anyone."

- Adam and Emma, Bury St. Edmunds

Through self-study I spent several years learning the craft of workshop-based woodworking, finding mentorship from other craftspeople and following my passion which continually drove me to explore and evolve my understanding of working with wood.

Wood is a complicated material to master and the skill of woodworking is all about the process of working in harmony with the wood.

While the machines give you accuracy and speed, the hand tools allow you to forge an intimate connection between you and the material. Combined together, you can create limitless possibilities.

It is this experimental element of woodworking that fires up my creativity, inspiring me to keep growing and developing my skill set.
